Fast-rising duo Riton and Kah-Lo have just released their brand new single ‘Up & Down’. An upbeat and dynamic display of the Riton-Kah-Lo partnership, ‘Up & Down’ features a thumping bass-line, and synth-laden bouncy chords to create an addictive party starter that has been a huge favourite in their live sets this summer.
‘Up & Down’ precedes the eagerly anticipated drop of their vibrant joint album Foreign Ororo, scheduled for release on 28th September. With a track record of releasing banger after banger over the past 2 years, the album includes some of the duo’s most memorable tracks, including ‘Fasta’, ‘Fake ID’ and ‘Ginger’, which received a wealth of radio support across Rinse FM and Kiss Fresh, with additional spins from Annie Mac, Mistajam and Target across BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra, as well as plays across Beats 1 and BBC 6 Music.
Having amassed over 140 million streams on previous releases together, Riton & Kah-Lo have become one of dance music’s most irresistibly in-demand duos, blending their talents to form a number of stomping house hits, including the Grammy-nominated ‘Rinse & Repeat’.
Discussing their musical chemistry, Riton explains: “I was always on the look-out for a singer that had something a little bit special. Finally my prayers were answered in the form of Kah-Lo.”
With the two going from strength to strength with a strong chain of hits over the course of a year, the duo of the hour have invented their own genre, with the forthcoming album serving as a greatest hits of party tunes that are known all around the world.
Enjoying a hectic recent touring schedule, Kah-Lo supported Sofi Tukker on their North American tour, and the pair also embarked on a recent tour around Australia in July.
“The last couple of years have been incredible!” said Kah-Lo. “After being nominated for the Grammys, doing my first ever U.S and Australian tours, hitting more than 10 million streams on ‘Fake ID’, and making a remix for Selena Gomez, I’m extremely excited for Foreign Ororo to drop. It’s been super special working with Riton on these tracks and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”
Having built a strong and organic musical relationship, which first transpired from social media, the two have recently played at Boardmasters and Pukkelpop festivals. ‘Up & Down’ has dropped ahead of their weekend performances at Reading & Leeds and SW4, with ‘Foreign Orono’ acting as the final link in the Kah-Lo and Riton puzzle!
